الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَة
Not poetry: measurements. What the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah state, in numbers, about the life you are in and the one you are heading to.
"By Allah, this world beside the Hereafter is nothing but as when one of you dips this finger of his into the sea: so let him see what it brings back."
Muslim 2858Everything ever owned, built, or won by every human in history fits in the droplet. The sea is what remains.
On the Day itself, the deniers will estimate this whole life as "an hour of a day" (10:45). Divide seventy by forever: this life rounds to zero, except in what it purchases.
No market on earth posts rates like these. They are posted, in writing, for the life that lasts.
"O son of Adam, have you ever seen any good? He says: No, by Allah, my Lord."
"O son of Adam, have you ever seen any hardship? He says: No, by Allah, my Lord."
One immersion erases the entire memory of seventy years. That is the actual weight of every luxury envied and every hardship feared here.
"The son of Adam says: my wealth, my wealth. And is anything yours except what you ate and finished, wore and wore out, or gave and sent ahead?"
Muslim 2958 · and 18:46: "the enduring good deeds are better""Two blessings about which many people are cheated: health and free time."
Bukhari 6412The only two currencies any deed is ever bought with. Both are draining while you read this sentence, and the next life pays out exactly what they purchased.
"No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even the prick he receives from a thorn, but Allah expiates some of his sins for it."
Bukhari 5641"No Muslim is afflicted by any harm but Allah sheds his sins as a tree sheds its leaves."
Bukhari 5660 · Muslim 2571Here, pain subtracts from what stands against you: every fever, worry, and thorn quietly lightens the load. That exchange runs only on this side of the grave.
"Seven, Allah will shade them in His shade on the Day when there is no shade but His."
Bukhari 660 · Muslim 1031Fifty thousand years of sun, and shade is bought here, now, mostly for free: none of the seven requires wealth, and every one of them is available today.
"What have I to do with this world? I and this world are but as a rider who shades himself under a tree, then moves on and leaves it."
Tirmidhi 2377"Be in this world as if you were a stranger, or a traveler on the road."
Bukhari 6416If this world weighed as much as a mosquito's wing with Allah, He would not have given a denier a sip of its water (Tirmidhi 2320). It weighs less; so travel light, and load the mount with what the next country accepts.
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
“Faces that Day will be radiant, looking at their Lord.” (75:22-23)
